Big booming voice!!!
AHH, Drawing this girl brings me back! Her first appearance was in high school when I drew comic strips for the school newspaper. She’s gone through quite a redesign since then. You’ll find out her name soon, When you do you’ll think “well that’s a silly/obvious name.” XD
I love this girl’s design! Now I want to draw her! π
COW! TURTLE!!!
Ooh! New charateur! I wonder what she use to look like?
Emma: Oh wow! Thanks! I’m happy you like her :’D
Kurobara: hahaa XD
Bablet: sort of like this: http://www.portfolio.runliljared.com/oldgirl.jpg
Just wondering: Do you put your comics in the JPEG format on purpose? JPEG is a lossy file compression which compresses pictures by “taking out things that can’t be seen by the human eye”. This is perfectly fine for photos because there is a lot of color variations that help create the illusion of such. The problem when it comes to comics is that you can actually see what was lost because there are usually large spaces of solid color. JPEGs also hurt the sharpness of the lineart for the exact reason. Better alternatives is the PNG format because it is a “lossless” file format and as such, preserve the quality of the comic. Try it out, you’ll see a HUGE difference, especially if you compare the two side by side.
Anonymous G: Oh, you are right! I took a look at it and it really does make a huge difference. Thanks for the advice, when I get time I’m going to look into reformatting. (:
You’re welcome π I actually found this out on accident after getting really, really frustrated by the quality difference between what I was putting up on my Deviant Art, and what it actually looked like while I was making it. After a little research, and my own experimentation, I saw the difference myself. Up until that point, I didn’t even have the slightest clue what a PNG file was.
She is so adorable.. <3 I love her hyperness already π
She’s kind of cute!
Other than that jpgs LOOK fine, are usually a fraction of the size of pngs and it discourages anyone from making printouts, I don’t see any reason to stick with them. I mean, all they are is a win-win-win.
